The programme focuses on substance abuse issues. Emphasis is placed on how to apply relevant measures and methods in environmental work, communication and ethical dilemmas, as well as being able to reflect on one’s own work in meetings with users and relatives.

The programme focuses on substance abuse issues. Emphasis is placed on how to apply relevant measures and methods in environmental work, communication and ethical dilemmas, as well as being able to reflect on one’s own work in meetings with users and relatives.
The programme also includes topics such as preventive work among children and young people. Students will gain insight into topics such as recovery, children of substance abusers, various forms of substance abuse, habilitation and rehabilitation.
Experience consultants will be used as lecturers to share their stories about life as an addict and the road back to a drug-free life.
This programme also provides important additional expertise for healthcare professionals working with the elderly and people with intellectual disabilities. You can do your practical training at your own workplace. This is a free evening vocational school, which is completed over two years and can be combined with work.
The programme can be offered in the following counties:
Rogaland, Vestland and Agder.

– The programme can be carried out as a location-based, online with sessions or online part-time programme. Select the desired location for the programme to see how it is planned to be carried out in your area.
– Completion of the programme results in 60 credits and the title “Fagskolegrad”

The Interdisciplinary Environmental Work in Substance Abuse and Mental Health programme is suitable for healthcare professionals, nursing assistants, care workers, activists, children’s and youth workers or others with a basic education in health and childcare.
The programme is interdisciplinary and has a clear user perspective. Interdisciplinary in this context means that it is aimed at employees with different academic backgrounds in the health and social care subjects in upper secondary education, and who work in municipal activities, specialised health services, institutions and educational activities.
Examination
Each course ends with an exam. The type of exam is stated in the individual programme plan.
