The programme emphasises that students should increase their competence in relation to various mental health problems and disorders. The mental health of children and young people is a recurring theme throughout the programme.

The programme emphasises that students should increase their competence in relation to various mental health problems and disorders. The programme focuses on preventive health work in relation to the target group, interaction and communication with other professional groups and users and their networks. The programme also emphasises the ability to reflect ethically, to empathise with the user’s life situation and to represent the user’s right to self-determination and participation.

Children and young people’s mental health is a recurring theme throughout the programme.

You can carry out practical training/project work at your own workplace. This is a free evening vocational school, which is completed over two years and can be combined with work.

The programme is suitable for

Health care workers, nursing assistants, care workers, activators, child and youth workers or others with a basic education in health care.

The School of Mental Health Work is aimed at employees who work in areas of the health and education services.

Examination

Courses 1, 2, 3 and 4 end with the submission of a written assignment. Course 5 concludes with the submission of a specialisation assignment and an oral hearing.
