Kompetansepluss is a government grant scheme that allows companies to finance courses for their employees. The courses are free for participants. Skills Plus aims to strengthen the basic skills of employees in the labour market so that they can be stronger in their jobs and contribute to a more efficient workplace.

Skills plus Labour
Kompetansepluss Arbeid is adapted to the employees’ work tasks, which means that there are different variants of the programme to ensure that the training is as relevant as possible.
Basic skills and customised training for companies This type of training focuses on strengthening the basic skills needed to master tasks in working life. This includes reading, writing and maths, digital skills and Norwegian. The aim is to give employees better conditions for mastering work tasks.
Vocational and industry-specific training These are specialised programmes that target different industries, tailored to their specific skills needs. The training is practically orientated and directly linked to the requirements of sectors such as construction, health, transport, trade and industry.
Combined training in basic skills and Norwegian Some employees may need training across several areas. For example, a course can combine Norwegian language training with digital skills, enabling employees to both improve communication and use technology more effectively in the workplace. This makes the training more targeted and relevant to their daily work tasks.
Skills plus Vocational training
Kompetansepluss Fagopplæring provides courses that combine subject theory for a vocational certificate with basic skills or Norwegian, so that participants can develop both professional and practical skills in working life.

Vocational school module in electric power transport
We are launching the vocational school module “Electric power transport – Transport of electric power over long distances”. This programme is tailored to meet the demand from the Norwegian energy sector, which has a growing need for increased expertise in the transport of electrical power over long distances.
New vocational school modules in HSE for the petroleum sector
We are introducing new vocational school modules in “HSE for the petroleum sector” – a specialised programme focusing on health, safety and the environment in the petroleum sector. This is in-demand expertise that has been developed in collaboration with the industry.
An education for the future – Offshore wind for the supply industry
AOF Vestlandet-Agder has developed a new vocational school programme, Offshore Wind for the Supplier Industry, which consists of three modules of 10 credits each. The modules can be taken independently or together. Two key people in the development of this programme have been John Sverre Rønnevik at Deep Wind Offshore and Grete Rydningen Møgster, business developer. Their perspective and commitment have been crucial in shaping this exciting programme, which will help to prepare the region and the country for the offshore wind adventure that lies ahead.
